Coldplay light up my Christmas

So, whilst I'm still experimenting, I thought I'd tell you about some of the other things I've been up to lately.

I'm a huge Coldplay fan and was lucky enough to go and see them play a secret Christmas gig in Liverpool this Sunday with my friend Mr Burrett. It was a fantastic night. They were supported by the 'Choir with no name', compared by Mr Peter Kay and joined on stage by Gary Barlow for a rendition of 'Back for Good' and he joined them again at the end for Christmas Lights.

They played a set list of hits, which looked like this:

'Yellow'
'Lost!'
'God Put A Smile Upon Your Face'
'Cemeteries Of London'
'Trouble'
'Glass Of Water'
''Til Kingdom Come'
'Shiver'
'In My Place'
'Lovers In Japan'
'Death And All His Friends'
'Clocks'
'Viva La Vida'
'Fix You'
'Politik'
'The Scientist'
'Christmas Lights'

It was one of the most amazing nights of my life.

Also, we stayed in a fantastic new boutique hotel in Liverpool called 'base2stay' which was only about £60 a night, #1 out of 94 hotels in Liverpool on tripadvisor. Can highly recommend it. Modern, neat, clean & a great location being only about a 10 min walk from Lime Street station and even closer to the town centre.

Also we ate at a fantastic Cuban restaurant on the same street as the hotel (Seel Street) called Alma de Cuba. A beautifully restored church. We ate from the Christmas set menu, 3 courses for £20. Fantastic food, even if the service was a tad slow, but well worth the wait. By the time we left we were stuffed!

Welcome

So, here we are, my very first post on my very first blog. It's bizarre to think that although I have kept a diary from the tender age of about 13, and blogging has been around for well over a decade I have never got involved until now.

I guess it's probably because I have never thought that anyone would care to read the thoughts that spill out of my head and on to the keyboard.

Well, let's consider this an experiment shall we.

I'm equally excited to see how quickly I can learn to edit this thing too.

Welcome one and all to the weird and wonderful world of the inner workings of my mind. Hobbits and all. :)
